I have been an attorney, helping Appleton, Wisconsin, clients in divorce and family law and other legal practice areas for almost 20 years. I also spent 14 years with the Outagamie County Sheriff's Office. As a Law Enforcement Officer I learned how to read people and know what to expect from them. This experience also helps me take on the particularly difficult cases that many lawyers won't take because they involve abuse or other criminal behavior.

My biggest concern with divorce is to avoid war-like divorce confrontations. When a prospective client comes in for a free initial consultation, the first thing I try to do is evaluate the anger level. If that person comes in with the goal of dragging out litigation just to hurt the other party, I just won't take the case.

- Traditional divorce: Whether it is a contested divorce or uncontested divorce, I excel at handling the negotiations and the trial if there is no chance for success in mediation or collaborative divorce.
- Step-parent adoptions: When children of divorced parents form a bond with their step-parents, I help make those relationships gain the official legal recognition they deserve through step-parent adoptions.
